Aviva Blaustein

Partner
Aviva received her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She has worked as an OT in the subacute, acute, home health and pediatric arenas using her varied knowledge and skill set to enhance the lives of her patients, and maximize their participation in all daily activities. Aviva has held a Certified Brain Injury Specialist designation for many years, and is currently an Aging in Place Specialist, to ensure comfort of those who wish to maintain their independence in their own homes without compromising their safety. Additionally, Aviva has seen the very necessary and varied needs of those who have suffered a catastrophic illness or received a diagnosis that will change the nature of how individuals perform their activities of daily living (ADL) or mobility, for example, whether they are now wheelchair dependent, use devices or have limited range of motion. Aviva is passionate about "living life to the fullest" and giving that same chance to every individual. For this reason, she has partnered to create adaptABLE to allow clients to be as successful, safe and independent as possible in the comfort of their own home setting.

Miriam Ringel

Partner

Miriam graduated SUNY Downstate’s prestigious Occupational Therapy program with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT). She has extensive experience in both the administrative and clinical physical rehabilitation arenas and has worked with clients in varied settings, including outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, inpatient acute care and acute rehab. When discharging patients to the community, the goal is to get every patient back home where they were living prior to their injury, illness or surgery. Miriam is a certified Aging in Place Specialist and has a keen understanding of the challenges families face when undertaking the daunting goal of bringing a loved one home, often due to inaccessibility of the home or areas within the home and the overwhelming burden that places on caregivers. This is one of the motivators for the founding of adaptABLE – developing creative solutions for a safer and more independent home environment.
